Miniature Dachshund Breeders in Tennessee

Please, Come on in, and take a look around at our Doxie World!

We raise (ONLY) miniature dachshund puppies for sale to loving, happy homes.

Things are just a little different around here (than in most places) Let us explain what we mean.  The first thing you might notice when you pull in the yard is ~there are several signs on the fences that say “Protected by Dachshund Security Patrol” Next there are two large signs on the front porch that say  “The DOG and his housekeeper live here” and  also “Happiness is not a destination but a way of living”

By the front door, the smaller signs say “Beware of Puppy Kisses”  “A Dog says I Love You with his tail”
on a plaque of 3 Dachshunds !

We live on 7 acres of land, in a nice Old Farm House with
NO CARPET,  leather furniture, benches instead of chairs at the kitchen table, and lots of big pillows on the floors in every room.

More toys, balls, socks, chewable bones, and stuffed animals, than you can count in the floor everywhere! Not to mention the 4 doggy toy boxes that are also full of more toys!  A nice snuggly warm blanket on the couch! An extra wide recliner~ with room for at least 2 doxies on each side of the human occupant.

A large bottled water automatic water dispenser in the kitchen beside the automatic dog food feeder.

Lots of healthy, yummy, dog treats on the counter in the Doggy Cookie Jar! Plenty of Cheese, Yogurt, all beef hot dogs, carrots, and frozen Peas, in the fridge!

More dachshund figurines, statues, photos, art work, than imaginable placed on every shelf, wall and little spot we can find.

An extra large doggy Condo, sleeping crate beside Mommy’s bed. So we won’t all fight over who sleeps with Mommy !  Large puppy pee-pee pads in each bathroom floor.!  A baby gate at the bottom of the stairs so we can’t get into Hunters room and eat his toys that he forgot and left on the floor !

Doggy doors in  all the doors that lead to the fenced yard!  (and much much more !)

YES~ I think it is safe to say that DACHSHUNDS RULE around here !

Live simply
Love generously,
Care deeply,
Speak kindly,
Leave the rest
 to God

Busy B Doxies -

Here at Busy B Doxies, we strive every day to be a BREEDER with a "Capital B"

We truly believe our Doxies deserve this and more from us.

What is a "Breeder" ?

A Breeder (with a Capital "B") is one who thirsts for knowledge and never really knows it all, one who wrestles with decisions of conscience, convenience, and commitment.

A Breeder is one who sacrifices personal interests, finances, time, fancy furniture, and deep pile carpeting! She gives up the dream of long luxurious cruises in favor of turning that all important show into this years "vacation".

The Breeder goes without sleep (but never without coffee!) in hours spent planning a breeding or watching anxiously over the birth process, and afterwards, over every little sneeze, wiggle or cry.

The Breeder skips dinner parties because that litter is due or the babies have to be fed at eight. She disregards birth fluids and puts mouth to mouth to save a gasping newborn, literally blowing life into a tiny, helpless creature that may be the culmination of a lifetime of dreams.

A Breeder's lap is a marvelous place where generations of proud and noble champions once snoozed.

A Breeder's hands are strong and firm and often soiled, but ever so gentle and sensitive to the thrusts of a puppy's wet nose.

A Breeder's back and knees are usually arthritic from stooping, bending, and sitting in the birthing box, but are strong enough to enable the Breeder to show the next choice pup to a championship.

A Breeder's shoulders are stooped and often heaped with abuse from competitors, but they're wide enough to support the weight of a thousand defeats and frustrations.

A Breeder's arms are always able to wield a mop, support an armful of puppies, or lend a helping hand to a newcomer.

A Breeder's ears are wonderful things, sometimes red (from being talked about) or strangely shaped (from being against a phone receiver), Often deaf to criticism, yet always fine-tuned to the whimper of a sick puppy.

A Breeder's eyes are blurred from pedigree research and sometimes blind to her own dog's faults, but they are ever so keen to the competition's faults and are always searching for the perfect specimen.

A Breeder's brain is foggy on faces, but it can recall pedigrees faster than an IBM computer. It's so full of knowledge that sometimes it blows a fuse; It catalogues thousands of good bonings, fine ears, and perfect heads...... And buries in the soul, the failures, and the ones that didn't turn out.

The Breeder's heart is often broken, but it beats strongly with hope everlasting.....And it's always in the right place!

Oh yes, there are breeders, and then there are

OUTSIDE IN THE YARD ~ A  chain link fence, that has been buried at least 6”deep all the way around, the entire yard.

A PUPPY PLAY GROUND- A large Round fenced area so we can run , and run, non stop, (no corners or walls to stop us while we play chase)  complete with a Little Tikes Fort that has slides & steps, a safe low platform, with a shaded top and more.  YES  they love it!

Tunnels  for running through, and playing hide and seek in.  A Puppy size  Green Turtle Swimming pool ! Under a big shaded  canopy ~of coarse, complete with a large fan on the ceiling to keep us cool in the summer time.

An automatic water fountain for cool fresh water 24/7, and a well supplied automatic feeder full of healthy puppy food.

Balls of every size and color, pull toys ~tied to the fence for pulling fun. Frisbees, fly toys,  puppy chew toys of all flavors, shapes and sizes.

A big tire for climbing on and playing inside too., and a  HUGE tree stump with lots of  big roots and platforms, so we can all play King of the Mountain.

A Big Railroad style cross tie  to use as a balance beam.

A Swing  set for children to play on while they are here playing with us.  A wooden  giant sand box next to the swing set so we can dig in the white sand for hidden treasures.  That is always a fun activity. Hunter plays cars in here with us sometimes.

Several large dog houses under the Oak tree for resting in the shade when we get tired from all the fun!

OUR DACHSHUND PUPPY NURSERY~  Each one of our Doxie moms come inside the nursery 2 weeks before her due date. Where they each have a private indoor and outdoor area for comfort. So we can keep an extra close eye on her.

Three days before her due date, she is transferred into an inside only private area.  And is monitored 24/7 till her labor begins.

At the first signs of labor we set up the Doxie Maternity Delivery Room ~in our living room. Tammy and the Doxie mom that is in labor get comfortable in the recliner and get prepared for THE PRECIOUS PUPPIES TO BE BORN.

Delivery of a litter of dachshund puppies can take up to 24 hours for many Dachshund moms, and we never leave her side, (even  in the middle of the night, or if we had other plans ~well cancel them) we are there with her to help keep her comfortable and relaxed (our experienced moms who have had a litter before know and expect Tammy to hold them through it all)

We always make sure that each puppy born gets every detail we can provide for them in their first few hours of life. WHAT A JOY TO  WATCH !  We feel very excited and blessed each time we deliver a Dachshund puppy into the world.  What a precious gift from God ! We help the mom to clean each puppy and record the details in writing (the date, time, weight of puppy, color & markings, sex)

When mom has finished giving birth and all the puppies have nursed and are sleeping comfortable, we move them all back to the puppy nursery into their private Puppy Condo for the first few weeks of life. Here they have a warm comfortable bed and plenty of time to just sleep, eat, and grow.  Under our watchful eyes. We handle and love on each puppy every day.

At about 3 to 4 weeks old when the puppies start getting more active and begin to play, we graduate them all to a larger area, where mom can jump over a 10 “high divider, and have access to an outside relaxing area, away from her puppies (When she is ready).

By the time the puppies are about 6 weeks old mom has weaned them . And now we remove the divider board and expand the puppy pen to a nice big area, where they can run and really play more with each other.  We put down a pee-pee pad at one end of their pen so they can begin their potty training.  Then at about 8 weeks old they a re ready for their new forever loving homes.

We have left out tons of work, cleaning, and taking care of many details, but there is not enough room for it all in writing.

Here are a few photos of our Doxie nursery, puppies & mom inside pens,

and a few photos of our adults playing outside too.

We hope  this will help you understand our breeding program

and view our facility.

AS REPUTABLE DACHSHUND BREEDERS,We know that it is very difficult to trust everything you read on the Internet !  SO we have tried to provide  you with PHOTOS to help SHOW YOU our place and how we do things at Busy B Doxies.

Here are a few photos of our house & property, inside  our home, and outside in the yard

We hope this will help you see how things look around here,

and how we do things at Busy B Doxies.

Yes~ we do have more Doxies than most average families !  But this is our life and our passion, we are 100% addicted and DEVOTED to all of our Doxies, ask our kids they are jealous, they say we spend more time with our dogs than we do with them !  But to be a reputable breeder requires devotion and a lot of hard work too. We made our Doxies a promise over 10 years ago~ to put their happiness and health first and we still keep that promise to them every day !

We love our dachshunds and would never do anything, or allow anything to harm them.  Yes~ we must have fences and outside living quarters for our dachshunds, it is required to keep them safe and protected, it is also the law and an AKC requirement to separate them, to manage their breeding.  Each one of our Doxies have heated dog houses in the winter and shaded areas and fans in the summer time. They have plenty of room to run and play.  We have 7 acres of land. We provide them with many, many details to keep them comfortable, happy and healthy. We are AKC  inspected and licensed by our state. We are very proud of our breeding facility and invite anyone who may have any questions  to please come visit us, and make your own opinions !  We have nothing to hide from anyone !

We spend most of our time every day with our Doxies and love it !  We handle them, pick them up, love on them, talk to them,  play with them, laugh and socialize with them, and clean their yard daily !  We have an awesome vet, who trusts us and supports us. I also have a wonderful step-mom who help us when we need time off, or to be away from home for a short while,Annie. She is great, we know that our babies and adults are in safe hands who love them as much as we do, while we are not with them.
